he Roman Arena Scutum Shield is crafted from poplar wood and layered with tightly bonded linen on its front and back. The shield grip is a wooden horizontal bar and its shield boss is crafted from brass. The shield is edged in riveted brass banding and it is finished with hand-painted design.
